With the exception of the Improver Holidays, all are licensed by the English Bridge Union or SBU and are open to any bridge players. Bridge is as well organised as you would expect with a retired EBU TD in command. All the rules of bridge are obeyed, but guests are never allowed to lose sight of Helen’s favourite, law 74, so bridge is always fun! I have all mod cons, so there is electronic scoring with Bridgemate IIs, meaning results are ready within seconds of the last table finishing, and duplicated boards, so there are copies of the hands available at the end of play for either formal or informal discussion. Master points at District Scale and generous prizes are awarded at every session. Although not advertised, seminars can be arranged on topics chosen by the guests when bridge is not scheduled, just ask Helen. I invite all my guests to join me for a pre-dinner drink each evening. |
