1. Your bridge/hospitality
fee is payable at the first bridge session and covers bridge, prizes, drinks
with Helen, and hotel staff gratuities. Payment by bank transfer is
preferred. My bank details will be in your confirmation email. Otherwise, it
is possible to pay in cash (please put this in an envelope with your name on
so I know who it’s from!) or by cheque. There will be a collection box in the
bridge room on the table with the scorecards. 2. Insurance is
recommended to cover hotel cancellation fees. Most of my hotels do not charge
provided you give 48 hours’ notice, but a copy of the cancellation policy
will be sent to you with your booking confirmation if they do. You will lose
any deposit you have paid to the hotel, but I do not charge for cancelling
the bridge element of the holiday. 3. All players are
expected to conform to the rules and regulations set down by the EBU (or SBU
in Scotland) and especially the ones about being a good host and a good guest
at the bridge table. Helen insists bridge should be fun! 4. Prizes will be
awarded per session. They are awarded in the form of a voucher which may be
exchanged for a gift from the prize table or used towards the cost of your
next bridge fees (£5 per voucher). While you may only win one “special” prize
per holiday, there are no other restrictions. Your pen is a present, not a
prize! 5. You may play as much
or as little bridge as you wish. You are asked to write your name on the “Not
Playing” clipboard if you do not intend to play in a particular session. This
will be on the table with the scorecards. The more notice you give, the better,
so the best movement can be selected for the guests who do want to play. 6. “Helen’s Bridge
Holidays” is registered under the Data Protection Act. Your details will be
passed to no one other than the hotel where we are staying. 7. Cancellation: You can cancel in
writing by post (enclosing sae for
acknowledgement) or by e-mail (cancellation not effective until confirmed)
provided you give 48 hours’ notice. After this time, you must also ring the hotel directly to
let them know that you will not be joining us. 8. SINGLE PLAYERS: Whilst players are
welcome to come on my holidays without a partner and will be guaranteed a
game at all sessions, they will be required to take “pot luck” as far as a
partner is concerned. Unlike larger bridge
holiday companies, my budget will not stretch to employing professional
partners. Consequently, there may be a restricted choice of partner,
depending on how many others have come on their own. I will do my best to
match players by system and experience and am happy to offer the option of
cancelling if I am aware of a greater discrepancy than might be considered
acceptable. In order to match
players as closely as possible it would be helpful if single players could
let me know what system they play and their EBU rank, NGS status, or level of
experience. On certain holidays,
where space or the number of single occupancy rooms is limited, I may ask
single players to wait until I have a suitable partner for them before I
confirm the booking. |
