Another bargain break at the Weston Hotel, Scarborough, following the success of our first visit in February 2026.

The hotel was featured in the second episode of Channel 4’s ‘Yorkshire By The Sea’, which aired in August 2024 and celebrated the stories of local businesses along the stunning Yorkshire coast. In June, Cecil’s Restaurant was awarded an AA Rosette, a testament to their passion for creating exceptional dining experiences.

As an independent, family-run hotel on the prestigious Esplanade,  just opposite the cliff lift and within walking distance of the Scarborough Spa complex, they offer not only warm hospitality but also breathtaking views over Scarborough’s South Bay. The Victorian building houses 32 tastefully decorated en-suite rooms, 18 of which provide sweeping views from Scarborough Castle to Cayton Bay, giving you a true taste of the coast.

Their small, dedicated team is here to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, while Cecil’s restaurant, offers a dining experience that celebrates the best of local produce and Yorkshire traditions. Recent renovations have infused both Cecil’s and the Weston Hotel with fresh energy, creating inviting spaces that blend historic charm with modern comfort.

It does not have a car park but the hotel will offer you a free parking pass so you can park in the streets immediately around the hotel. As it is the off season, we shouldn’t be competing with too many day visitors!

Because it is only a small hotel, one end of the dining room will have to double up as the bridge room.  Space is a bit tight and the close proximity of the tables to each other means it is a bit on the noisy side after the quickest tables have finished playing, but a friendly atmosphere can still be achieved. Since our visit, we’ve been offered the use of their private dining room as a prize room, so prizes are back on the menu!

There are steps up to the hotel and some rooms are on half landings, so if you need level lift access, don’t forget to let me know!
