HELEN’S BRIDGE HOLIDAYS |
|
Bridge is fun! |
|
My first holidays for 2027 are starting to appear on my website. At the Netherwood, I have both dates and prices, so you can book already! At the moment, I have dates but no prices for the ever popular Bedford Hotel. If you have a favourite room or want to be sure of securing a place on a holiday, you can make a provisional booking to be confirmed or cancelled once I have prices.
Here’s what is happening over the next 6 months. Booking early is always recommended especially if you want a single occupancy room or have a favourite room in a particular hotel.
There are two holidays in November, both with some availability: 3 night holiday at Cave Castle, South Cave, East Yorkshire from the 3rd to the 6th November 5 night holiday at the Bedford, Lytham St Annes from the 23rd to the 26th November In December, I have 4 holidays! The first with vacancies is at the Netherwood. This is a great time to visit as the hotel will be magically decorated for Christmas. It is a 5 night holiday from the 7th to the 12th December.
Then if you fancy a pre-Christmas break, what could be better than 4 nights at the wonderful Bedford Hotel from the 15th to 19th December to relax and recharge your batteries before the last hectic week leading up to Christmas?
To end the year I have a Twixmas break at the North Euston from the 27th to 30th December so you can let the sea air revive you after Christmas and set you up ready for the New Year! We’re going to offer an extra challenge included in the package – a Treasure Trail hunt on whichever afternoon looks to have the better weather! The North Euston Hotel does not reserve any rooms exclusively for double occupancy, so, even if you’re on your own, you can book any available room provided you have a partrner or I can find you a suitable match.
To start off the new year, I have a holiday at the ever-popular Bedford Hotel from the 16th to 19th January. Then, from the 23rd to 26th January, it’s the first of my new venues for 2026, the Delmont Hotel in Scarborough’s North bay with splendid views out to sea. This is a real bargain at £290 per person including bridge….even after I negotiated the price upwards so we could eat from the a la carte menu Patrick and I sampled when we went there with our eldest daughter and her partner. The best rooms go to those who book first.
February sees me back at the Bedford from the 20th to 23rd. There are still a few rooms left for this holiday.
In March, I have a very few bay view, now re-named as superior, rooms only left at the Netherwood from the 9th to 12th. Then I’m back to the Skipton Hotel from the 16th to 19th with its revised cancellation policy which means you onluy lose your deposit unless you cancel after noon on the day before and Cave Castle from the 23rd to 26th. To end the month, from the 29th March to the 1st April , we’re returning to the Cairndale Hotel, Dumfries – the new £2 million spa is now open – ask the hotel for details & prices. The playing room has now moved to the opposite side of the hotel. It can be accessed through the hotel, but this does involve stairs. The easiest access is by going out of the front door and then walking along the front of the hotel to the function room door. Although Dumfries itself is a bit dour, there’s still plenty to see and do in the area. Plus, if, like Patrick, you enjoy a game of crazy golf, Dumfries has a very cheap course!
In April, I shall be travelling up to the Scottish Borders for a visit to Ednam House in Kelso. This is a quirky hotel in a quaint town which boasts my favourite ice cream shop! This one is a bit of a strain on the purse strings as it reflects prices in the area with the cost ranging from £613.60 per person sharing a standard room to £670.60 for single occupancy of a river view room for 4 nights’ dinner, bed and breakfast and bridge from the 13th to 17th April.
Holidays missing from this newsletter are already fully booked.
For details of all these holidays, click on the dates above. If you wish to be added to the waiting list for holidays on the website (www.helensbridgeholidays.co.uk) which are currently fully booked, just send me an email. There is no obligation. If I have a cancellation, I contact you to see if you’re still interested and available.
I now have a new bank account. If you would like to pay your bridge fees by bank transfer, you can request a link from me, via your mobile or email, which will take you to your own bank account with all my details filled in for you, completely free of charge. It is still possible to do it the old fashioned way. The details are: Account name: Helen’s Bridge Holidays Sort Code: 04-00-03 Account number : 36428278
And finally…..congratulations if you have made it this far. I’m looking forward to seeing over 500 of you over the course of a year for bridge and maybe for a late session of Mexican Train Dominoes or Rummikub after bridge in the evenings. We might even invite you to join us for one of Treasure Trails’ treasure hunts. Take care and keep smiling
