HELEN’S BRIDGE HOLIDAYS

Bridge is fun!

As you will see on my website: www.helensbridgeholidays.co.uk , many of my holidays have no or limited availability, so prompt action is necessary if you would like to join me for any of the others, especially if you are wanting rooms for single occupancy.

Rather than list all my remaining holidays here, I’m just including the ones in the next six months which are not fully booked.

There are still a few spaces on the extra holiday I’ve added at Shap Wells, near Shap in Cumbria, close to the M6, from the 5th  to 8th April, though most are sharing rooms. This is a good holiday for nature lovers as the hotel grounds are a sanctuary for red squirrels. You can be virtually guaranteed seeing them at the feeding station in the woods close to the hotel car park as long as they are not still hibernating! You do need a car, though, as the hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere. We’re back at Shap Wells for another holiday from the 9th to 12th August.

A few days ago, the Kensington Hotel, Llandudno, gave me some extra rooms for the holiday from the 26th to 29th April – I now have one twin room left!

Raven Hall, at Ravenscar on the Yorkshire coast between Scarborough and Whitby, from the 10th to 13th June is officially fully booked but the hotel will allow people to book on the holiday if they still have any rooms left. However, there are none for single occupancy.

The North Euston, in the unlikely holiday spot that is Fleetwood, from the 24th to 27th June still has spaces. The hotel has been a bit of a project for its current owners and their efforts do show. The food is good 70’s pub fare with options such as prawn cocktail, chicken a la king and crème brulee on offer. The bridge room is very pleasant, though you could find the view of the sea distracting! Fleetwood itself is still to show the results of the generous bequest to the town following the death of the owner of Fisherman’s Friend. The museum is very interesting and you can escape by tram from just across the road to Cleveleys ad even Blackpool. Fleetwood Market and the Affinity outlet centre may be worth a visit, though there is a lot of repetition in what is on offer.

The ever popular Bedford Hotel in Lytham St Annes has a few rooms left for sharing only for the 5 night holiday from the 28th July to 2nd August and for the 3 night holiday from the 13th to 16th September.

If you missed out in June, you might like to book for Ednam House in Kelso for the holiday from the 12th to 16th August. Ednam House backs on to the river Tweed so the views as well as the town are delightful and the Italian ice cream shop is well worth a visit!

Although it’s not in the next 6 months, I will just mention I’ve added an extra 3 night holiday at the popular Cave Castle Hotel in East Yorkshire from the 11th to 14th November.

For details of all these holidays, click on the dates above. If you wish to be added to the waiting list for holidays on the website which are currently fully booked, just send me an email. There is no obligation. If I have a cancellation, I contact you to see if you’re still interested and available.

All my holidays for the rest of 2024 can be found on my website:

www.helensbridgeholidays.co.uk

I’m even taking bookings for 2025 holidays which can be booked provisionally where I have dates but no prices. As soon as I know what the hotels are charging, I’ll contact you to see whether you want to proceed with the booking or not.

Take care and keep smiling

Helen
